Hurshell K. Brown, Esq., CPA

Hurshell serves as the General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer for Beyond Finance, LLC.  Hurshell has over 20 years of experience providing legal and regulatory compliance counsel for debt settlement companies, consumer finance lenders, and fintech operations, with a specific focus on online operations. His experience includes representing clients with debt settlement compliance and enrollments, online loan originations, online commerce, electronic payments, and interest/APR issues.  Hurshell has also provided counsel to clients with state and federal supervisory examinations, and he has worked extensively with client to develop and maintain effective compliance management systems.  He also has significant experience in representing clients expanding operations into new states and new markets, while remaining in compliance with the wide range of federal and state consumer financial laws.

Prior to joining Beyond Finance, Hurshell was a partner with Hudson Cook, LLP. He was also in-house counsel for a publicly-traded consumer finance company for over 10 years. Hurshell was recognized in The Best Lawyers in America© in the practice area of Financial Services Regulation Law in 2020. Hurshell has also been named in Fort Worth Magazine – Top Attorneys from 2009-2021.
